I was asked again in messenger if the old square gatsos work. They don't. The new ones that are not gatso made, look like the picture and have a separate flash box attached. The flash is only for the attention of drivers who get flashed and other road users to warn they work. The flash isn't needed anymore because it isn't two pictures that get saved and a measurement made between the two pictures it took. It's now digital so potentially recording the whole time and only saving clips that trigger it. They only face the rear. So they haven't solved the problem of proving who was driving at the time. Taxi drivers told me, always select the option to go to court. Always say it's a crime to put false information down and you genuinely do not know who was driving the car at the time because you are certain it is not you. The solution for speeding is average speed cameras. They work so well they never get the bills paid for installing them so no council opts for having them.
